Welcome to a New Adventure
Welcome to Ink & Insight
the new blog at Leanne Gelish Studio—your marketing home.
If you’ve been here before, expecting a photography portfolio, you’re not imagining things. I’m proud to say I’ve (semi)retired from that chapter. Yes, I still take on creative projects when they’re rooted in photography, but this—this marketing studio—was always the plan.
Let’s rewind.
Four years ago, after a COVID-era furlough, I found myself picking up marketing work with no real intention other than to help. It turns out, helping people build intentional brands came naturally to me. I wasn’t interested in slapping up content or chasing likes—I wanted to help people show up with clarity, strategy, and story. When I rebranded as “Leanne Gelish Studio,” it was with the hope that “Studio” could one day mean something more than photography. That day is now.
Like so many stories before mine, I didn’t leap right away. But in my personal time, I couldn’t stop learning. I dove deep into marketing trends, brand strategy, and graphic design—not to become a designer, but to understand the creative process better. I’m currently studying color theory, inspired by one of my interior design clients. Learning is my default setting. It’s how I connect. It's how I stay inspired.
In February, I finally left my 9–5. I didn’t have a grand plan—just a dream to work for myself, even if that meant long hours and uncertainty. I knew I needed flexibility, freedom, and something that was mine. I chose not to rush through the gift of that discomfort. I chose to build something slowly, intentionally, and without settling.
Instead of applying for unemployment, I applied to SEAP (the Self-Employment Assistance Program), which gave me access to mentorship, structure, and free education. For SEAP, I’m building Aunt Loretta’s Kitchen into more than just a novelty—it’s becoming a real brand with heart. What started as a whim quickly became a clear lane, and I want to do it right.
Around the same time, I picked up two part-time marketing roles—one as a strategy lead, the other as an assistant. Completely different industries. Completely different learning curves. But both reminded me how much I love this work. I had to relearn the basics, adapt quickly, and trust my gut. That’s when I remembered why I rebranded in the first place: this was never just about photography. This was about marketing that feels like storytelling.
Which brings me here—Ink & Insight, the official blog of Leanne Gelish Studio.
You can expect helpful, strategic marketing content, yes—but everything I share will be rooted in story. Because good marketing doesn’t exist without one. Whether you work directly with me, or simply learn from this space, my goal is the same: to help you build something that feels true.
I’ve worked with skincare brands, electrical manufacturers, museums, restaurants, realtors, and my own scrappy wedding photography business—because marketing, at its core, is about learning. About listening. About adapting to each unique brand and telling its story the best way possible.
That’s what I do. And I’m so glad you’re here.
Let’s build something beautiful.
